How Crazy Life has been!

(Dallin, Hailey, McKayla & Ashlyn)

April turned out to be a crazy month. The first fun thing was Easter. We had Easter in St. George at LeAnn's house. We went to the Tabernacle and heard Jen sing with the Heritage Choir and then went and had an Easter egg hunt in the dark with the older kids. They used flashlights to find their eggs and they had a blast! What a fun new tradition we started! Saturday was General Conference, so we did our activities between conference sessions. We had a tea party at mom's and dyed eggs and had dinner. It was so much fun.

(Don & Carol Walker, Micquelle & Kyle Curtis)

The next fun thing was that Carol and Don's daughter Micquelle married Kyle Curtis in the SLC Temple. Our family went up for the wedding. It was beautiful. Greg and I went to the wedding at the temple and then we drove to Springville for the luncheon and reception. It was so nice and Micquelle was a beautiful bride. It was fun to see old friends.

(LeAnn & I at the Marriott Center)

The next week was Women's Conference and LeAnn and I decided to go together. We stayed at Heritage Halls. The weather was crappy and Friday we woke up to snow. April 30th and snow, what's up with that? Anyway, the conference was wonderful and we had a great time. We ate at fun places and had fun shopping. LeAnn bought the same shirts and shoes I bought, as usual! LOL!

(Me & Buster taking a nap)

LeAnn and I went to SLC after the Conference was over. Saturday morning we were getting ready to go shopping and Hailey called me crying and told me Buster died. I talked to Greg and he told me what happened. I noticed he was having some labored breathing when I left town. I wondered if he'd make it because he's acted so weird lately. Saturday early morning he really started having trouble and Greg took him to the vet and found out he was having heart failure. He had to put him down. We had Buster for 11 1/2 years and he was a good dog. He loved me more than my family does. It's been sad and weird to get used to having him not around. I have to pick the food up off the floor that I drop and also I can't put leftovers in his bowl etc. I miss him.

(Ashley with her mission call)

Then first week of May was crazy, I had to work Monday thru Thursday in Hailey's class and I had stuff after school. Wednesday I drove the Activity Day girls to the temple for their activity and I was home 20 min. the whole day. Thursday I had to work again. Well, that's the day Ashley pulled off her Mother's Day surprise. The church just started letting the kids put their mission papers in 12o days out from their availability date. I found out that week when a member of my bishopric told me, so I'd know for Derek. Well, Ashley's bishop knew and we thought she couldn't submit her papers until May 8th. She turned them in the day we left for Micquelle's wedding. She got her call Thursday while I was at work. She drove down Wednesday night and stayed at Kelsi's house. She had Derek get the mail key out of my car and bring it to her. While I was at work, she and Kelsi and Derek got her call out of the mail and then put the key back in my car while I was still at work. After work, I took Derek to get bloodwork for his mission and apparently he's texting her the whole time telling her where I was and when we'd be home. On the way home, Kaylie Fritzler called and needed a blue card for a scout that was at her house. I ran one over, much to Derek's odd dismay. I then had about 40 minutes until I had to pick Hailey up at her friend's house, so I visited with Kristin Bushman (Her son was the scout). I get in the car to drive to get Hailey and Greg called and told me to go home that Ashley got her mission call. I didn't really believe him, so I called Ashley and LeAnn and started to feel like something was fishy. I came home and sure enough a bunch of cars were at my house. I was surprised, but then mortified that Ashley had people in my filthy kitchen I hadn't been home to clean! We moved to the living room and opened it. She's going to the Louisville, Kentucky mission Spanish speaking. It was pretty exciting. Katie Word got her call too, so we moved the party to her house and watched open her call. She's going to New Jersey, Spanish speaking. They both go into the MTC on August 25th.

Ryker, Halle & Hailey)

The next day was Ashley's graduation from Dixie. We drove to Utah for that. It was a whirlwind weekend, but so exciting. Most of the family was there. Sandy even came from SLC. The graduation was nice and we went to the Gun Barrel for dinner afterwards. The next morning, LeAnn had a breakfast at her house in honor of Ashley. It was so nice and yummy. After that we shopped for more missionary clothes.

April was so busy and May started out the same! Other than Buster dying life has been exciting! I also got a new calling at church. I'm now a Relief Society teacher. My first lesson is tomorrow, so now I need to go work on my lesson!
